Picture Post

Ice on one of my bushes from the ice storm
View from my front porch. If you can make this picture bigger you can really see the ice. This was on Friday and the ice is still there today (Sunday). Georgetown doesn't have any ice left and they're only 15 miles away from us. Wierd.

She loves this bunny. It plays music and she'll rock back and forth.

She still fits in the sink. She also still loves her bath.

Just a standing up shot

I love this one. If you look closely you can see the icicles on the deck.

I also love close-ups.
I have more pics but i'll save them for later. She's much better with her ears. I was going to get her ears pierced this weekend but chickened out. I'm afraid she'll try to pull them out. Any advice from parents that got their baby's ears pierced? Have a great week everyone!

It's been awhile!! Updates between pictures.

This is a picture of freestyle motorcross. For those of you that don't know what that is--the rider does tricks on the dirt bike after jumping off a ramp. Hunter and I LOVE to watch this. It really amazes me what people can do. Well the FMX (freestyle motor cross) came to Rupp Arena last Saturday so Me, Hunter and Alex went. Alex really didn't care about going but his ticket was only $5 so I made him go. He loved it. He yelled louder than me and Hunter! After the show we got to meet the riders and get autographs. They loved that too. All in all, I think they enjoyed the "mommy time".
On my last post I wrote about our trip to Ohio and Isabella's first road trip. These 2 pictures are of her and Alex in the hotel room.

This is Hunter and Isabella goofing off. She is so fun to play with because you can just look at her and she laughs! I know I sound like a biased mom but she is SO GOOD! i honestly have no problems with her. I probably just jinxed myself though.
We had to take Isabella to the doctor this week because she wasn't her happy, joyful self. She had BAD ear infections. We had no clue because there wasn't a fever and she wasn't fussy except that one day. Poor thing! The numbing ear drops work great and she's back to her happy self. Her new thing is to hold anything the size of a phone up to her ear and just babble away. She also plays "fetch" by herself. She'll throw the ball AND go get it. She also never gets tired of the 'Where's Isabella?" game.
For those of you that read my blog and don't live in Kentucky, the weather has been awful. We got ice last week and I couldn't go to work and we got ice last night and I TRIED to go to work but couldn't make it. As soon as I turned out of my driveway (which is very long and gravel and a solid sheet of ice) and got on the road I started sliding. I couldn't go anywhere. To make a scary story short, Allen had to get the tractor and pull my van back onto the driveway out of the road which was not easy. I walked back tot he hose to get flashlights and the van slid off the road while I was gone. I even had the emergency brake on. Two other trucks were stuck in front of our house too. They didn't move until 7:30. They sat there 2 hours! I'd like to know why my tax money didn't go for salting my road!! They didn't come around until 12:25 PM.
I'll try to post more often. I plan on posting some ice pictures tomorrow. I hadn't realized it had been 12 days since my last post! When I look at some of your blogs and they haven't been updated in a while, I USED to think "I wish they'd hurry up and post to their blog!". Now i realize what it takes to keep up with the blog and e-mails and other blogs and anything else you do on a computer. But I will try to do better!

I've been tagged

First let me do a little update. Isabella has 2 new teeth popping through on the bottom. It's not to much of a problem so far. I'm sorry I'm not posting as much as I would like but a whole new season of TV started! I'm hooked on American Idol which is 2 nights a week and Lost which is on Thursdays. Then I have to watch the news at 10:00 so I can get in bed since I get up at 4:45 AM. And for those of you who don't remember what dial-up was like or never had it to begin with, it is soooooo slow. It takes forever to load one picture so it takes alot of time for me to post. It wasn't so bad when I was home but I don't get on the computer until Isabella goes to bed because I want to spend time with her. There are a lot of nights I just don't feel like going through the big ordeal of posting. I do keep up with everyone elses blogs even though i might not comment.

Isabella, Alex, and I took a road trip to Waverly Ohio to an auction. my Mom's aunt died and they were selling her stuff. I didn't have anything else to do so I thought we'd go. Mom ended up riding with me which was nice. We went up Friday nite and spent the night in a hotel. isabella didn't sleep well at all but she was a perfect angel the rest of the time. Needless to say, she charmed the crowd.

Now to the tagging, Jennifer (http://www.thehanksgang.blogspot.com/ ) (I don't know how to add just the name so some one has to tell me: Hint, hint Jenn or Cynthia) tagged me so here goes with the 7 weird things about me:

1. I don't like for my food to touch on my plate. I wish I could always eat off those cafeteria type plates with all the different sections. The only foods I can mix together in the same bite are turkey and dressing.

2. I love fruit but can't eat veggies unless they are raw. I can't stand mushy food. Corn is the ONLY cooked veggie I eat.

3. Not to steal one of Jenn's but I'm right handed but I shoot a gun left handed. I can't sight with my right eye at all. I have great vision-no glasses-but I have to use my left eye. It might have something to do with the surgery I had for lazy eye when I was 3 years old. It was done on my left eye.

4. I constantly think the worst when I drive. I think about the other cars crossing the center line, deer running in front of me, semi truck tires blowing out, or crashing in water somewhere and being trapped. I keep telling Allen I want one of those tools that break your windshield. I won't drive faster than 75 MPH because what if my tire blew.......

5. I played the snare drum in high school marching band. Back then, those drums were heavy! I was the only girl that played drums so the director wouldn't let me play something else because he thought it was cool. He wasn't the one that had to lug that thing around!

6. I have A LOT of collections. Glass shoes, hens on nests, cups and saucers, plates, cookie jars, and hinged trinket boxes. I am seriously running out of room. I have way more than I can mention here. I quit going to auctions because I was ADDICTED. I didn't know when to stop. If I wanted the item, I bid til I got it. Saturday's auction was the first one I've been to in a couple of years. I bought some cups and saucers!

7. I'm usually "middle-of-the-road" on issues. I don't like confrontation and hate to argue. I guess that's why Allen and I have been married for 15 years. I'm all about fairness though and hate when people don't get treated fairly. "Life isn't fair" never sank in with me. I will argue my side if i have a true stance on something or if I don't feel like something is "right". Otherwise, I just listen.

I really don't have 7 people to tag that haven't already been tagged. Sorry! Someone be sure to let me know how to add a link in with just that person's name.

more from Christmas

I couldn't remember if I e-mailed these out or not. These are part of our portrait package that I hadn't posted so I thought I would.
It seems like as soon as Isabella turned 1, she changed. She started taking a few steps here and there but now she's walking most of the time. It's so cute and the fact that she's walking still surprises her and makes herself laugh. She's trying to say more words. Today I got her on video shaking her finger and saying "No". She must have gotten that from the babysitter because how could I tell that sweet face "NO"? She's also eating more people food. She's sleeping better and her stuffy nose is gone for the time being. i'm trying to get her bangs to go to the side but they seem to just want to hang down. Barrets don't stay in very well but they do totally change her look. It's cute while they're in her hair.
All in all, everything's good at the Smith household.
